This site dedicated to the Torit uprising in Sudan on August 16, 19955. It was a resisance heritage that changed the political Sudan’s pass and the future.
As a South Sudanese and resident of that hisoric city, that event shaped my life experiences and way of thinking about the current issues and events in Suan. Through Torit1955, you wil be able to converse with people who want to who inend to turn that pass into a better and newer Sudan.

The entry point for your effort on this blog is to post on this blog the 1955 report of the Condominium Government on the tragic events of that historic uprising. Doing so would mark the road to a sharing of information that would, presumably, establish a platform for dialouge. You may as the British libraties at Durham for an authentic copy. If this is not done, many readers would not be able to follow, and make objective valuation, your contributers. If you do that, it would encourage us to continue being guests to your blog.

Dear Abdalbasit,
Thank you for this suggestion. I promise to look for the fact finding commission’s report on the 1955 Torit events and present as basis for further conversation. Though Torit uprising occurred ages ago, 53 years ago, its ramifications are still here to stay. I guess the idea is not to open a pandora box as many people would suggest, but to explore means of dialogue.
